I managed to get a free domain (bhavana.com.np) as a Nepali citizen. Thanks to Mercantile Communications Pvt. Ltd. that they have been offering this service to Nepalese citizens, companies, academics, cooperatives, educational institutions and other kinds of institutions/organizations.
You can also learn how to get a free dot NP domain (.np ccTLD) for yourself, or your organization based on my article.

Getting the free .np domain is not a difficult job. All you need to do is fill up the request form available at register.com.np. You also need to attach a signed cover letter (request letter) and copy of citizenship/certificate of business registration while you submit the free .np domain request form.
You may use : .NP Domain Request Letter Generator

While filling up the form please provide the nameservers. GoDaddy and NameCheap have free DNS Host services which can be used for this purpose. You may also use other free DNS services like Cloudflare.
Actually, you first need to look for available domain at register.com.np and host the .np at DNS host of GoDaddy or NameCheap before you fill-up the form at register.com.np. GoDaddy provides you two random nameservers (for example- ns1.domaincontrol.com and ns2.domaincontrol.com) which can be used as nameservers while filling up the form at register.com.np. In case of Cloudflare, you may already have default NS for your Cloudflare account. The same NS records can be used while registering your free .np domain at register.com.np.
I suggest you complete all processes in one day. My domain address bhavana.com.np was a single-named domain. If I was late, somebody else could have taken it. Besides the free .np domain, you can also check other options of free domains for blogging. For example, I would suggest you buy a .com domain from NameCheap.
